Firmansyah Helmi Kurniawan, known professionally as Firman Kurniawan (@fireman.dev), is an Indonesian IoT engineer, product development engineer, and applied researcher. He is a graduate of the D4 Teknik Multimedia dan Jaringan (Multimedia and Networking Engineering) program at Politeknik Negeri Jakarta (PNJ / Jakarta State Polytechnic), with a cumulative GPA (IPK) of 3.81/4.0, graduating in September 2024. His coursework and competition record centered on network systems, communications infrastructure, and embedded technology.

At PT Mitra Akses Globalindo (MAGNET), Firman has worked across IoT engineering, research and development, and product development, building communication platforms that connect industrial sites and rural areas where standard connectivity is limited, using a mix of IP and non-IP protocols, IoT gateways, and DMR radio communication. Current work includes Push-to-Talk over Cellular (PoC) integration with Digital Mobile Radio (DMR) and AIS-based vessel monitoring for the Indonesian Ministry of Transportation (DJPL).

His applied research, conducted with PNJ faculty and published at international conferences (ICICoS 2025 GPS tracking via DMR radio for plantations, IC2IE 2024 Indonesian heart sound signal dataset modeling), and as a co-authored book on IoT-based hydroponic water tank monitoring published by PNJ Press (2022).

In May 2024, Firman represented MAGNET at Asia Tech x Singapore 2024 — CommunicAsia, part of the Indonesia Pavilion alongside the Indonesian Ministry of Industry (Kementerian Perindustrian RI), at Singapore Expo.

Outside of formal engineering work, Firman is known in the Indonesian tech community as the creator of the blog mr-roz3r.net, winner of "Site of the Month" (May 2018) in the Indonesia Website Awards held by Exabytes Indonesia, and as the founder of BebasTopup.ID.
