HT-based GPS Tracking for Plantations

A GPS tracking system for oil palm plantation monitoring, transmitted over handy-talky (HT) radio networks rather than cellular data.

Problem

Oil palm plantations are typically located in remote rural areas with poor or no cellular coverage, making conventional GPS/GPRS tracking of personnel and vehicles unreliable.

Solution

A GPS tracking system that transmits location data over existing handy-talky radio infrastructure, giving plantation operators real-time location monitoring without depending on cellular networks.

Architecture

GPS receiver modules capture location data, which is encoded and transmitted over handy-talky radio channels to a base station receiver, then decoded and visualized for plantation monitoring.
